Where have all the people gone? Expert outlines dire workforce, population trends

Labor force expert Ron Hetrick provided a grim assessment of the workforce picture facing companies during is presentation at the Catawba County Economic Development Corporation annual meeting on Wednesday.

"It's not just a perfect strom - it's a hurricane, tornado and earthquake all rolled into one," Hetrick said during the virtual meeting.

Hetrick, who works for the data campany Emsi, is the author of a recent report called "The Demographic Drought" that examines the large-scale population and workforce deficits facing the United States and other parts of the world...
