Claremont company celebrates 50 years

A Claremont company, Catawba Rental Company, Inc. recently celebrated its 50th year in business in Claremont

Catawba Rental Company, Inc., also known as Catawba Truck Rental, founded in 1966, began as a truck leasing company and has grown over the years to include sister companies Cargo Transporters, Inc., Cargo Consolidation Service, Inc., CT Management, Inc. and Cargo Integrated Logistics.  These companies provide truck and trailer leasing and rental, truck and trailer maintenance and repair, truckload transportation, warehousing and logistics and specialized furniture transportation and logistics.

The company, founded by the Pope and Brown families of Claremont has grown over the years.  All of its companies combined employ approximately 750 people, many based in Catawba County and the surrounding areas.  The company, which is still 100% privately held, takes pride in being an integral part of the community and has contributed to various organizations throughout the years.  "Over the years we have grown but our company still has a small, family type atmosphere," says John Pope.  "It is important to us that we provide a great place to work, give back to our community, take care of our environment and maintain a culture of safety.  We are very blessed and thankful for our employees, customers and suppliers who have helped us achieve our golden anniversary," says Pope.

The organization has various events planned during the year as well as some special community donations to celebrate the anniversary.
